The Absolute Best Hotel in Franklin

The Absolute Best Hotel in Franklin

Franklin does hotels like a Hoosier host pours coffee, strong and without fanfare. You can roll into town for a show or a visit to the candy shop downtown and find everything from the polished, sprawling comfort of the Fairfield, where the rooms are so big you’ll pause in the doorway, to the Ashley-Drake’s quiet, garden-side hospitality that feels like staying with a friend.

I’ve slept in most of them, and the Hampton’s make-your-own waffles alone are worth the stop. Pick your lane.

Here’s where to rest your head.

Hampton Inn & Suites Franklin Indianapolis

Hampton Inn & Suites Franklin Indianapolis
Highlights
Friendly staff
Clean rooms
Comfy beds
Great breakfast
Solid value

I’ve stayed at a lot of Hamptons over the years, and this one in Franklin just feels right. The staff actually remembers you when you come back from dinner, which is a small thing but it goes a long way. My room was spotless, the bed was firm but plush in that perfect way, and I slept like I hadn’t slept in months. Breakfast had hot eggs, sausage, and make-your-own waffles, plus plenty of fruit and yogurt. For the price, you’re getting way more than you’d expect. I’d book here again without a second thought.

Highlights
Best hotel in Franklin
Huge, clean, comfortable rooms
Private outdoor seating area
Thoughtful handicap accessible rooms
Friendly, experienced staff

This is the best hotel in Franklin, full stop. I walked into my room and just stood there for a second because it was that huge. The bed was massive, the couch area was actually useful, and everything gleamed like it had just been cleaned. They gave me a room with a private outdoor seating area, which was perfect for morning coffee. I appreciated that the handicapped accessible rooms weren’t an afterthought; they’re genuinely thoughtful and spacious. The staff has clearly been doing this for a long time because every request was handled smoothly. This place sets the bar.

Ashley-Drake Historic Inn and Gardens

Ashley-Drake Historic Inn and Gardens
Highlights
Quiet, cozy, walkable downtown location
Wonderful owner and hostess
Awesome breakfast each morning
Great value for overnight stays
Close to charming candy shop

If you want to feel like you’re staying at a friend’s lovely home rather than a hotel, this is it. The Ashley-Drake sits quietly right downtown, so I could walk to the candy shop in two minutes, which is dangerous. The owner greeted me by name, gave me a tour of the gardens, and made sure I had everything I needed. Every morning, breakfast was something awesome, not just cereal and toast, but real made-from-scratch cooking. The room was cozy, the bed was soft, and the whole vibe was peaceful. For the price, this is genuinely a steal.

SleepNTIme Motel

SleepNTIme Motel
Highlights
Kind and polite owners
Great value for price
Welcoming personal service
Clean and simple stay

The SleepNTIme Motel isn't fancy, but it doesn't need to be. The owners are some of the kindest people I've met in this business. They remembered my name, asked about my day, and made sure I had extra towels without me even asking. The room itself was clean and simple, with a bed that worked fine for a night's rest. You're not getting luxury here, but you're getting comfort and respect for a very fair price. If you need a no-fuss place to crash in Franklin, this is a solid choice. I left feeling taken care of.
