The Absolute Best Wine in Carmel

The Absolute Best Wine in Carmel

There’s no single, obvious wine town here, and honestly, that’s what makes Carmel so fun to drink in. You can stumble from a spot like Q’s Wine Bar, where the service is so calm it feels like a private club, to a place like Platinum Liquors, where the sheer size of the selection gives you a contact buzz.

Between the duck bolognese at Good Omen and the free samples at Orangily, the range is genuinely ridiculous. I’ve done the legwork so you don’t have to waste a single pour.

Here are the places worth your time.

I stopped by on a cool evening and the staff immediately steered me toward a glass of something I would never have picked myself, and it was the best pairing I've had in ages. The paninis and fries are genuinely excellent, but the real star is the cozy, date-night energy that wraps around you the moment you sit down. The folks here are passionate and attentive without hovering, and they clearly know their wines inside and out. If you're looking for a spot that feels personal and warm, this is it. I left already planning my return.
